Unlocking Potential Through Montessori and Play-Based Learning

Our Philosophy

We believe in providing each child with a variety of experiences and opportunities to learn, create and discover. Our program is socially and emotionally strong, thus providing our children with a healthy feeling of self-esteem and initiative. We encourage exploration, imagination, creativity, problem-solving, and appreciation for uniqueness and differences in personalities, abilities, and appearances. We have designed our program to be the essential base for later cognitive learning. We feel that with our curriculum, as well as our caring and highly qualified staff, we provide our children with the healthy environment needed for optimal growth and discovery.

Our Environment

Our classroom setting provides our children with a safe, comfortable, clean and well-organized environment.

We strongly believe that class size is an important part of the overall environment of a classroom. Our ratios range from 1:4 in our infant/toddler rooms, 1:6 in our 2’s classrooms and 1:8 in our 3’s and Pre-K classrooms. We are proud that our ratios fall well below the state-mandated requirement of 1:12 in a preschool classroom. Each classroom has a minimum of two teachers and an assistant. Our unusually low ratios make it possible for our teachers to provide more time with each student and incorporate more detailed projects into all areas of our curriculum.

My experience with Little Oak Preschool -Menlo Park (formally Bright Angel Academy) has been a pleasure. After a stressful move my 2 children have acclimated to this environment beautifully. They feel loved and excepted by the staff. The Montessori program was new to us, but they seem to be flourishing. The freedom to learn and develop psychologically and socially has increased their interest in learning new things.

I wrote this review because I saw a negative review by someone that doesn't even attend the school. It is important to me that this is about the kids and not about an outsider stirring trouble. These people have been a blessing to our family.
